Count down. . .

I'm about 24hours away from leaving on my big trip! I've spent the entire day packing and could probably supply an entire village's needs with all the stuff I'm taking. I'm meeting Jaime in NY Saturday and then crossing the pond over to Amsterdam for a few days and then by July I'll be in Uganda. I received an invitation from the US embassy about celebrating 4th of July over in Uganda (HA!), now that would be an experience.

Anyways, last night I was messing around on the computer and happened upon this cool video about microfinance in Uganda, more specifically KIVA. I thought it was a very well done video clip (got to love PBS!) and it explained microfinance very well. Yall should check it out.

Welcome

I'm wanting to keep in touch with everyone this summer and I figure this is a good way to keep everyone updated on my travels. This is the blog I'm going to be using while I'm in Uganda this summer. This will just be a personal blog, so yall won't have to suffer through my field reports. Please feel free to add yourself as a "follower". I leave on June 27th, will be spending a few days in Amsterdam and then off to Kampala on July 1st. After gathering supplies in Kampala I'll be arriving in Mbale, the city I'm staying in, on July 3rd.
